- Dec 10, 2015 12:00 amMesmerizing audiences from all over the world with her unique and gentle style, Canadian born Jana Seale has been a featured guest artist aboard luxury cruise lines since April 2006.
Jana’s evocative delivery returns to the roots of the solo performer, reminiscent of
Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez and the coffeehouses of times gone by...
Inspired by open tuning troubadour Nanci Griffith, and Eva Cassidy’s simply elegant guitar arrangements, Jana performs with warm, understated fingerstyle guitar.
But it's her multi-facetted voice that captivates her audience night after night.
Jana’s first three Cds have travelled home with passengers from around the world -
and tracks from both 2006’s debut ‘Jana Seale’ and 2008’s ‘temporarily lost at sea’
have played on Canadian radio stations including CBC Vancouver, and Edmonton’s CKUA.
Her 4th Cd 'sea to sky' was Cd was released Dec 17, 2013.
'sea to sky' is another collaboration with well respected musician/producer Colin Nairne...
(The High Bar Gang/Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts)
With wonderful backing perfomances by Eric Reed and Rob Becker, 'sea to sky'
has songs chosen by fans, and some of Jana's favorite songs.
- Dec 19, 2015 8:00 pmBrian and Michelle, the front half of the Halifax Wharf Rats, are the Flanagans. Brian and Michelle entertain as a duo and sometimes trio, singing and performing with acoustic guitar, piano and flute/piccolo/fife/irish whistle. Their extensive repertoire includes Canadian and American folk, from Canadian classics such as "The Log Driver's Waltz", Gordon Lightfoot, Stan Rogers, Neil Young, Ian and Sylvia Tyson - to Johnny Cash, John Denver, the Beatles, Eagles and David Gray, and so much more. Add Irish and Scottish folk music, songs from Atlantic Canada, current songs from the radio, and the result is the Flanagans get people singing and dancing.
